Warning:
situation is potentially harmful. Consider adjusting security settings

What to Know
Before You Install XP SP 2 |
- Check your computer for unwanted software.
You can detect and remove unwanted software (for example spyware) from
your computer using a variety of tools.

Get the latest manufacturer or PC component updates for SP2.
As one of the steps to ensuring you have all of the
support information you need to install SP2, Microsoft recommends that
you visit the websites of either the PC manufacturer or the PC component
(motherboard, modem, sound or video card, etc) manufacturer, first and
search for any information about SP2 that might apply to your computer.

Protect your important files. It
is also HIGHLY recommended that you back up your important and
irreplaceable personal information, such as pictures, documents, music
and financial data.

How Do I Know if My Computer is ready to Install SP2? |

Go to the Windows update Website. Windows
update will scan your computer. If it lists Windows XP SP2 as an
available update, then your computer is ready for SP2.
To install the service pack, your computer must have a CD-Rom
drive or an internet connection and meet the following minimum
requirements:
 | 233 MHz Processor |
 | 64MB RAM |
 | 1.8 GB available Hard Drive Space during Installation |
 | Running either Windows XP Home, Windows XP Professional, Windows
XP Media Center Edition, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition |
